Low Light Pistol Class

Instructors: Marty True & Chris Desmond

They both have over 20 years of uniform law enforcement experience. Chris has worked on patrol tactical teams and as a patrol supervisor. He has Peace Officer Standards and Training Instructor certificates in, Chemical Agents, Diversionary Devices, Arrest & Control, Expandable Baton, Firearms, and Police Academy Instructor Certified. Marty has a B.S. in Criminology, he spent 23 years of his 33 years in Law Enforcement as a Sergeant. During his career, he was assigned to investigative units and tactical units. Marty was a member of the SWAT team for 27 years. Marty developed and conducted tactical and firearms training courses for the department. As a sergeant, he was assigned to the department’s regional training center. He holds certificates for Firearms, Use of Force, Emergency Vehicle Operation, Taser, Expandable Baton, Diversionary Device, and Police Academy Instructor Certified.

Low-Light Shooting

Most defensive uses of handguns happen in low-light conditions. It is often difficult to locate facilities that offer the opportunity to train with hand-held or weapon mounted lights. The Police Science Institute is offering a low-light pistol course which will integrate live-fire training with the use of a lighting system.
