Course Curriculum
- Basic Handgun Safety
- Technical fundamentals of shooting;
Stance,
Grip,
Sight alignment/picture,
and use of Trigger Manipulation - Loading Revolvers and Semi-Automatics
- Understanding the major components of “how” the firearm works.
- Learning the basics of Ammunition
- Firearm Safety Certificate preparation (required to register a firearm)
- Firearm selection for a good “fit”
- Non-Lethal Defense
- Dry Firing
- Live Fire on the Shooting Range
Our Women’s CCW & Basic Handgun Safety class is designed for beginners. The class starts with basic firearms safety and fundamentals of shooting. Our instructors will teach you the rules of handgun safety, how to load and unload, how to operate each function and how to correctly shoot your handgun. You then progresses to actual live fire shooting in our indoor range. The class continues by going through the course material required to complete your certification needed to apply for your California Concealed Weapon Permit (CCW). This class satisfies 8 of 16 required hours needed to obtain your California CCW Permit (Please view the video instructions at the top of this page related to the additional training hours required)
We encourage first time shooters who do not own a firearm to attend this class. Ammunition and gun rental is included for those who currently do not own their own firearm. Those wishing to complete their CCW Qualification with firearms registered in their name must provide their own ammunition. Participants that do not currently own a firearm may return to do their CCW qualification with an instructor once they have purchased their own firearm at no extra cost. Students will have up to 6 months from their class date to schedule their shooting test. To schedule your shooting test contact us (559) 276-9800. A class reminder will be sent to the email used for payment, the email will be sent a few days prior to your class with instructions for your upcoming class.

No refunds due to the demand of this class. If you have an emergency and need to cancel, we can reschedule you one time for a future class based on schedule availability.
PLEASE READ PROVIDED MATERIAL TO SATISFY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA’S ADDITIONAL TRAINING HOURS REQUIREMENT. BE PREPARED TO REVIEW AND COMPLETE A WRITTEN TEST AT OUR LOCATION WHILE ATTENDING YOUR IN-PERSON CCW CLASS.

UNARMED, LESS LETHAL DEFENSE
“Anyone can likely become the victim of physical violence and they are often found in situations that might encourage this. For example, going for a walk or run in the evening, leaving work or a store in a sketchy part of town, or real estate agents who might have to show houses on their own. Fearing for your safety is a common trend nowadays for individuals of all ages.
- Unarmed Defense (Protecting yourself from an attacker when you are unarmed using strikes, blocks, and kicks)
- Less Lethal Defense (Such as Pepper Spray, Sun Gun, or Taser)
Our Self-Defense class is taught by Chris and Marty.
They both have over 20 years of uniform law enforcement experience. Chris has worked on patrol tactical teams and as a patrol supervisor. He has Peace Officer Standards and Training Instructor certificates in, Chemical Agents, Diversionary Devices, Arrest & Control, Expandable Baton, Firearms, and Police Academy Instructor Certified. Marty has a B.S. in Criminology, he spent 23 years of his 33 years in Law Enforcement as a Sergeant. During his career, he was assigned to investigative units and tactical units. Marty was a member of the SWAT team for 27 years. Marty developed and conducted tactical and firearms training courses for the department. As a sergeant, he was assigned to the department’s regional training center. He holds certificates for Firearms, Use of Force, Emergency Vehicle Operation, Taser, Expandable Baton, Diversionary Device, and Police Academy Instructor Certified.
To attend this class you must be 12 and older as long as accompanied by an adult.
