The 2022 Spring Shooting League Has Concluded. We will be announcing winners and awarding prizes to the top shooters in each division. Thank you to everyone who participated!
The Ceremony will take place at Police Science Institute. To RSVP please email Jessica@policescience.com
During the ceremony we will also like to collect feedback for the next upcoming league. We have added a comment box below where you can add feedback, suggestions, what will you like to try or see next in the near future.
Loved the shooting league. It was a great way to get me out to shoot and to be more comfortable with my firearm. I would strongly suggest that members be allowed to keep their best score. The possibility of doing worse than your last shoot is a disincentive to even try. All of us have an off day and everyone I’ve spoken with agrees. It would not be any more difficult to track. If someone shoots a lower score, don’t record it. Just leave the best score. Then we can keep trying to get better, rather than settling for a mediocre score because we are afraid of doing worse.
Other than that, my only other suggestion would be a notification system (text?) to alert us when the range will be busy with another class, or any other reason for starting late or cancelling so we can plan accordingly.
Great job Curtis, Aaron and Josh! Thank you for all your help and patience!
Thank you for the feedback Rochelle! I am happy to hear you overall had a great experience and enjoyed your time.
Overall the league and all of the instructors were great!
As mentioned it would have been nice to have a heads up that the range was busy with a class and we’re stuck waiting around for an hour (It’s a half hour drive for me to the range and gas prices are insane so I can’t exactly leave and come back). Or just change the start time entirely for the duration of the leage so there are no conflicts.
Also it would have been nice to get more updates on scoring. Scores weren’t updated the last couple months so nobody really knew how they were doing. There was also a rumor about the scores being averaged across each month instead of totaled? I still haven’t seen the totals so still not really sure on final standings or how they were totalled. I’m unable to attend the awards event so hopefully the final standings get sent out to the group at some point.
I think it would be nice to have totals sent out to league members weekly via email or online portal (or monthly at a minimum). If it was weekly it would incentive members to go back and reshoot for a higher score. Ex: If I was happy with my score after the first week and now see that my score isn’t holding up so well I need go back and reshoot (or practice!).
But overall this was a lot of fun! Curt, Aaron, and Josh were all great and I’m looking forward to the next one. Hope you keep this going!
