(Walk-in Class, No Pre-Registration Required.)

Two Day Class (16 Hours)

This class is required in order to apply for an exposed carry license through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. This class is a qualification course. This class does not teach basic firearms training. If you need basic firearms training contact the school to set up a private lesson before taking this class.

Requirements:

Provide “Powers To Arrest” Certificate. This certificate is given when completing the guard card course.

Provide proof of citizenship documents accepted: Birth Certificate, DD214, United States Passport, Naturalization Document, Permanent Resident Card. To view a full list of documents accepted click the link below.

Second Session With Jim Erwin Live-Fire, Handgun Course

The live-fire portion will include basic fundamentals, intermediate level handgun drills, low-light drills and tactics related to carrying a concealed firearms. This portion will take place in the law enforcement range inside Police Science Institute. 15 students per session. There will be two sessions offered.

What To Bring:

  • Conceal Carry Handgun of Choice.

  • Conceal Carry Holster or bag.

  • 3 Magazines or Speed Loader.

  • Flashlight

  • 200 Rounds (No Steel).

Program Requirements:

  • Must have recent Agriculture, fieldwork, packing house work or be a a spouse/dependent of someone who has worked in these jobs with the last 12 months.

  • If male, must be registered with selective service.

  • Must live in Fresno County

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a clean background.

  • Must have a California DL

  • Must meet income guidelines.
