Guard Card Processing Time- Bureau Of Security & Investigative Services
Police Science Institute receives a lot of calls regarding Guard Card applications and why their license has not arrived in the mail. Depending on how you applied after taking the class the time length will vary.
Mailed in applications can take anywhere from 8-9 weeks to process. Online submissions can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks.
The Bureau of Security & Investigative Services has a link on their website that lets applicants know what month and date they are on applications. Here is the link: https://bsis.ca.gov/forms_pubs/app_timelines.shtml
If you see that it is past your date that you mailed yours and have not received a “Deficiency Letter” in the mail call them directly (916) 322-4000. They do have a high volume call line so be patient.
